RWH takes care of: design, BCIN licensed drawings, permits for building, conservation authority, and septic, interior design, flooring, cabinetry, countertops, tile, trim packages, plumbing fixtures, and door hardware.
Our building team constructs: custom homes and cottages, renovations, additions, garages, boathouses, commercial renovations, commercial construction, excavation, and foundations including ICF.
By keeping everything in house, we have more eyes on the project. Having more people aware of the progress of your home leaves us more confident everything is being addressed thoroughly.
Architectural Services
Consultation
The process begins with an initial meeting where we discuss the overall scope of your project. At this stage, we gather essential requirements such as the number of bedrooms, square footage, and number of stories you are envisioning. We also take into account unique features of the property, including size restrictions, existing trees, sun patterns and rocks. Together, we review design ideas and draw inspiration from past RWH projects to help shape your vision. From there, we create a general hand-drawn plan and preliminary concept to set the foundation for the design process.
Preliminary Design
Once in the preliminary design phase, you will meet with our Architectural Technologist where we provide detailed floor plans with dimensions, 3D views from all exterior angles, a 3D walkthrough of the interior, explore colour schemes and receive copies of floor plans and exterior views. This stage may involve several meetings to review the design, discuss feedback, and make any necessary changes before the design is complete. Once the preliminary design stage is complete, we provide a digital copy of your preliminary design along with access to an interactive 3D viewer.
Construction Drawings
The final aspect is the preparation of construction drawings based on your approved preliminary design. These include floor plans, elevations, roof plans, cross-sections, details and a full window schedule. All drawings are BCIN approved by our Architectural Technologist and include Schedule 1 Designer Information for your building permit. At this stage, you will receive a finalized version of your drawings.

The interior design process begins with an initial meeting to explore the full scope of your project and overall vision. Together, we identify key design elements such as flooring, kitchen details, and other key features, ensuring every aspect aligns with your goals. RWH also reviews the personal touches that make your space unique, considering factors like size restrictions, colour preferences, and style inspiration to create a design tailored specifically to you. To keep your project on track, we collaboratively assess the budget, enabling us to select high-quality materials that fit your style and budget.
Preliminary Design
The preliminary design stage begins with a meeting focused on selecting materials and developing the design for your kitchen and bathrooms. RWH prepares a detailed, organized spreadsheet of all selections, making it easy to track decisions by room. We also create 3D designs of the kitchen and bathrooms, helping you fully envision the space. A follow-up meeting ensures all selections are reviewed and approved.
Site Specific Design
We begin by reviewing the design and pricing together, followed by a site visit to take precise measurements for flooring, cabinetry, doors and other details. You’ll then have the opportunity to select finishes such as stairs, railings, paint colours, and hardware by visiting our Design Centre where you can see various samples, giving you confidence in your choices. Once selections are finalized, you’ll sign off on the materials and pricing, confirming everything before the ordering process begins.
Construction/Installation Design
The final stage is focused on execution and delivery. RWH ensures all materials are ordered and delivered to site efficiently. We then arrange an on-site meeting to review the installation, ensuring each element meets your expectation and reflects the design visions we’ve created together.

Our Design Centre has an extensive selection of samples to help you choose and coordinate all design aspects of your build. We carry finishes from the exterior of your build to the interior. Come and view our selections of flooring, tile, countertops, cabinets, siding, stone and more. The client’s experience is a top priority, which is why we provide a wide range of selections for each part of a build.
