The beautiful thing about custom, is allowing your imagination to fly. We love when clients want to think outside the box and get creative with a space, or include a feature that isn’t done in every build. These design features allow clients to really make the space unique, their own, and fitting to their specific lifestyle and design desires. We encourage our clients to work with our design team, to create beautiful spaces that are reflective of the client, as well as maximizing space.
Below is a list of features from past builds that have elevated a space, maximized it and reflected the owners lifestyle.
1. Artistic Wall With a Purpose
Our Interior Designer created this beautiful wall that doubled as a place to store and display the clients wine, but also as a feature wall. The piece was subtle, functional, beautiful and a great talking point.

2. Double Island
This design was absolutely perfect for our client that loved to host. The kitchen was the heart of this build, as counter space was important, as well as enough seating for all the parties that would come in that space.

3. Rooftop Fireplace Patio
Having a fireplace on a rooftop is not something every build has. Our client utilized their location at the peak of a lake and it turned out stunning. Having a fireplace on their roof overlooking the panoramic views of the lake was a perfect use of their location.

4. Functional Fireplace
The vibe for this cottage was cozy, rustic, warm and inviting. Having a space for the firewood built into the fireplace not only maximized on space, but utilized the rustic style.

5. Retractable Screened Porch
A screened in porch is not a completely unheard of design, but it is not one done on every build. We created a porch overlooking the water, that our client could use no matter how sunny, hot, or rainy the weather was. This retractable screen created protection from the elements, and shade. On those days of perfect weather, the screen did not need to be down. This feature allowed for freedom.

6. Built-In Bunk Beds
Thinking longterm is something we love being able to do for clients. With many grandkids, creating a room with built-in bunk beds was a perfect way to have beds for everyone, and allowed the grandkids to feel they had a designated space.

7. Staircase Book-Nook
This design has become a favourite for clients when they visit the showroom and see this photograph. It is such a wonderful way for the reader in your family to display their books, and utilize the space already there. It turns an ordinary space (your staircase) into a visual focal point, and maximizes space.

We hope these fun and unique design features have inspired you for your build. Wether you are looking to create something similar to match your lifestyle, or allowing these clients bold choices to encourage you to make a bold choice of your own – our design team is here for you.
